How Kratom Helps With Relaxation
Kratom (mitragynine speciosa) is a tree that grows in the Southeast Asian nations of Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar and Papua New Guinea. Kratom trees produce kratom leaves, known for their psychoactive properties. These leaves contain mitragynine, a chemical that activates certain receptors in the brain, particularly those receptors that produce dopamine, serotonin and adrenaline. The type of kratom that is ingested will determine how much dopamine, serotonin or adrenaline it produces.
How Does Kratom Help You Relax?
Kratom helps the end-user relax by latching onto, in particular, the serotonin and adrenaline receptors in the brain, causing these receptors to release smaller amounts of these chemicals, causing the body to slow down and feel a sense of relaxation. This is due to the very high levels of mitragynine and 7-Hydroxymitragynine (7HO), which determine how potent the strain of kratom is – the higher the level of both those chemicals, in particular 7HO, the more potent the kratom will be. This level occurs naturally is most kratom, but can be controlled through various artificial growing processes, including splicing – taking one type of kratom leaf and planting it next to the root of another kratom tree.
Generally, the higher the level of 7HO, the greater the relaxant effect that kratom will have on the body.
What Type Of Kratom Is Best For This?
As mentioned above, red kratom is proven to be one of the best types of kratom for relaxation and inducing sleep in the end-user. However, white “Maeng Da” also provides similar, though less powerful effects.
Due to the overwhelming power of red kratom – it is highly recommended that users who are new to kratom and using it for their sleep, begin by microdosing. Start with half a gram and go up from there, slowly increasing the dose every few days. It is recommended that between one and three grams of red kratom is usually enough for most users at the end of their day, to help them unwind and get a good night’s sleep.
It is crucial that you do not exceed five grams of red kratom per day, as this can have adverse side effects.
